Pharmaceutical Return Program

Whole MedicationsThe Central Marin Police Authority has recently received a Pharmaceutical Waste Container. The Pharmaceutical Waste Container has been placed in the front lobby of the police department and it is designed for the public to have a safe place to discard old or unused medications.

This program is not intended for professionally generated medical waste. It should be noted once an item is placed into the Pharmaceutical Waste Container, it cannot be recovered.

This program is anonymous and we will not be taking anyone’s information when they come to use the Pharmaceutical Waste Container.

Combined MedicationsPlease Reduce Volume by following these simple procedures:






  • Remove pills from containers and place in a Ziploc Bag or small paper bag.
  • Dispose of your own pill containers. Do not bring to the pharmacy.
  • Liquids, ointments, lotions, etc. should remain in their original containers and placed in a bag if there is room.
