All of our databases can be accessed both inside the library and remotely, from home or elsewhere. If you are accessing the databases remotely, you will need your library card number and PIN.

EBSCO's Biography Reference Center
A comprehensive collection of over 461,000 full-text biographies, including the complete full-text from Biography Today and Biography. Users can search by keyword, as well as browsing 30 genre categories, including actors, authors, composers, explorers, historical figures, inventors, musicians, world leaders, and others.

BookFlix from Scholastic
Scholastic Bookflix is an online literacy resource that builds a love of reading and learning with video storybooks. Scholastic Bookflix reinforces early reading skills and introduces children to a world of knowledge and exploration.
EBSCO's Literary Reference Center
Contains full text for plot summaries, synopses, and work overviews, literary criticism, author biographies, literary journals, book reviews, poems, short stories, author interviews, and classic texts. Also includes prominent encyclopedias and compendiums of literature.
NoveList
Need something good to read? The Novelist database can recommend books for adults, teens or children that are similar to other books you have read and enjoyed.

EBSCO's Small Business Reference Center
Information on small business and entrepreneurial subject areas, common business types, a help and advice section, and information for building business plans. Includes full-text periodicals and reference books, as well as videos, and state-specific resources.

Consumer Health Complete
Designed to support patients' information needs and foster an overall understanding of health-related topics. Covers all areas of health and wellness from mainstream medicine to alternative, holistic and integrated medicine.

Mango Languages
Mango Languages is an online resource that helps you learn practical conversation skills in more than 40 languages, including French, Italian, Spanish and German. Each lesson combines real life situations and audio from native speakers with simple, clear instructions. Users learn actual conversation, breaking down complex linguistic elements within an audio-visual framework that draws important connections and builds on information they have already learned.
Little Pim
Little Pim is a fun, interactive system that uses animation, videos and other tools to teach children basic language skills. It is designed for children ages 0-6.
Legal
Legal Information Reference Center
Contains hundreds of full-text publications and thousands of legal forms. The full-text legal reference books are provided through Nolo Press, the nation's oldest and most-respected provider of legal information for consumers and small businesses. Subjects covered include business and corporations, family affairs and divorce, immigration and travel, money and financial planning, patents, copyright and trademarks, property and real estate, rights and disputes, wills and estate planning.
Museum Passes
Discover and Go Online Museum Passes
MARINet Library Card holders have access to over 30 Bay Area Museums through the Discover and Go Museum Pass Program. Discover & Go provides MARINet Library card holders with free or discounted passes to local museums and other cultural institutions.
Make reservations online and print passes at home or at the library. Each Discover & Go pass is valid for the reserved date only. Patrons may have two active reservations at any one time.

Bay Area Discovery Museum Passes
Larkspur Library has two additional passes for the Bay Area Discovery Museum in Sausalito. Each pass admits four people and can be checked out for two days. You must pick up the passes and return them to Larkspur Library. Call the library at 415-927-5005 to reserve a pass.

ProQuest NewsStand
A database of over 500 National and International newspapers including the San Francisco Chronicle.
Student Research
EBSCO's Academic Search Complete
A multidisciplinary full-text database with 8,600 full-text periodicals, indexing and abstracting for more journals, in addition to monographs, reports, and conference proceedings, with materials going as far back as 1887. Subjects covered include animal science, anthropology, area studies, astronomy, biology, chemistry, civil engineering, electrical engineering, ethnic & multicultural studies, food science, general science, geography, geology, law, materials science, mathematics, mechanical engineering, music, pharmaceutical sciences, physics, pschology, religion & theology, veterinary science, women's studies, and zoology.
Student Research Center
The Student Research Center is designed for Middle and High School students. It searches the EBSCO databases we offer for the best resources on their topic for students. Search results are divided into categories - Magazines, Newspapers, Books and Encyclopedias, Biographies, Country and State Reports, Radio and TV transcripts, photos, and more.
Kids’ Search
Kids Search is designed especially for youth in grades K-8. Kids Search makes it easier for elementary/middle school students to look for information on their topic.
Points of View Reference Center
A full-text database designed to provide students with a series of essays that present multiple sides of a current issue. The database provides 280 topics, each with an overview, point, counterpoint, and Critical Thinking Guide. Topics include affirmative action, immigration, Iraq, Israel & the Palestinians, nuclear proliferation, separation of church and state, standardized testing, stem cell research, tax cuts, and more. Also available are guides to debate, developing arguments and writing position papers.
