  5. Larkspur Library Presents: Real Men Write Poetry

    May 7, 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM

    The performance includes individual poems, multi-voice work, one-liners, singing, and round-robin pieces. The emotional tenor covers the tragic, the meditative, the soulful, the light and humorous. An exciting twist this year is adding Prartho Sereno, who also sings and recites her work. Dick Brown is the organizer of the event and lives in Kent Woodlands. Joe Zaccardi is the past Marin Poet Laureate and lives in Fairfax. Calvin Ahlgren teaches poetry at the Marin Poetry Center and lives in Sun Valley, San Rafael.Sandy Scull is recognized for his Vietnam poetry and lives in Forest Knolls. Each poet adds a particular and personal addition to the afternoon event.

You’ll get information on identifying your goals, capabilities and budget, understanding your site and your soil and determining which food plants you love to eat that will grow in your Marin micro-climate. Our speaker, Dolores Gebhardt, is a graduate of the UC Marin Master Gardener program. She is a former Director of Education with the Conservatory of Flowers and is currently involved in Education Programs with the Garden Conservancy. Dolores loves to garden with a passion.
