  1. Larkspur Library Presents the "Think. Make. Try." Maker Lab from the Discovery Museum

    June 28, 3:30 PM - 5:00 PM @ Due to City Hall renovations this performance will be held at the Central Marin Police Authority (250 Doherty Dr, Larkspur, CA, 94939).

    Collaboration is key when it comes to design! Meet new friends and explore ways to express yourself and exchange ideas in this hands-on, open-ended “Maker Lab.” A Museum educator will introduce design challenges and establish the conditions for a cooperative, risk-friendly maker space before we break out into the hands-on stations. This research-based learning experience is designed to be highly engaging for children and thought-provoking for their caring adults. Recommended for 3-8 year olds.   2. Larkspur Library Presents: Butterflies of Marin County

    Butterflies are some of the most beautiful and popular insects, and they are also fascinating creatures. This lecture will focus on the life stories of our local species, where to find them, how to identify them, and what you can do to share your garden with them.  Presented by David Herlocker, an Interpretive Naturalist for Marin County Parks, and winner of the 2016 Terwilliger Environmental Award. Drawing, who coordinates programs and leads walks on many aspects of natural history in Marin since 1999. Drawing from his 36 years of experience and interpretive skills, David has inspired countless people to find the “awesomeness” in local flora and fauna, and to become stewards of the environment.   7. Larkspur Library Presents: WildCare’s Live Wildlife Ambassadors

    There is nothing more memorable than a visit from WildCare’s live wildlife ambassadors!  Our team will bring three of WildCare’s live non-releasable animals to your location for an exciting presentation that will not be forgotten!  By sharing their rescue stories, these animals act as ambassadors for their species, in order to raise awareness of their plight in the wild.  Possible wildlife visitors include a Northern Spotted Owl, Virginia Opossum, California Desert Tortoise, Squirrel, Red-tailed Hawk, Gopher Snake, Western Screech Owl, Rosy Boa, American Kestrel, and more!
