  1. New Presidio Parklands Project – Redefining the Presidio and Golden Gate Experience

    May 27, 7:00 PM

Great changes are coming to the Presidio and the Golden Gate! Right now, a portion of the elevated highway that cut through the Presidio for seven decades on its path to the Golden Gate Bridge is being replaced with an at-grade roadway hidden below ground in discrete tunnels. As a result, 13 acres of brand new national parkland will connect the Presidio’s Crissy Field with the heart of the park. Join us for a presentation on the design and to have your questions answered. With the public’s support, the new destination will delight locals and ultimately attract visitors from around the world with its experiences of San Francisco nature, history, and community. The designs will be complete by the end of the year, with the site opening to visitors in 2018.
