    Larkspur Library’s Armchair Travel Series will present a program on travel to Cuba with Rea Franjetic, owner of Cosmopolitan Adventure Tours. Rea will take us on a fascinating tour of Cuba. She will explain how to travel to Cuba safely and legally, and talk about what this unique Caribbean island has to offer.

    Local Author, Lynn Bornstein, will talk about her novel, Laura English, the story of a young girl who escapes the London Blitz, thrives in the care of relatives in the seaside town of Bournemouth and learns theatre craft from her irrepressible Uncle Bertie. A chance encounter with producer/director Sir James Paxton results in a dazzling film career on the sound stages of London, Hollywood ~ and beyond. Meet the friends and lovers who populate the world of Laura English.

  3. Larkspur Library Author Event: Dewey Livingston talks about his new history book: "In the Heart of Marin"

    Local historian, Dewey Livingston, will be at the Larkspur Library to talk about his new book: "In the Heart of Marin: the History of Kentfield and Greenbrae." Included in this inaugural stand-alone history of the two communities are tales of the small community of Kentfield, beginning in the 1800s, and growing in fits and starts, punctuated with celebrations and setbacks. Also included is the story of the carefully planned suburban Greenbrae community, beginning in the middle of the 20th century, with a focus on the Kentfield School District.

  2. Alexander Avenue Bridge Restoration Tour and Celebration

    September 26, 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM @ Meet at noon at Centennial Park, located at the corner of Magnolia and Alexander Avenues.

    Come celebrate the restoration of Larkspur's historic Alexander Avenue Bridge on September 26, 2014 from noon to 1 p.m. The tour will meet at Centennial Park at the corner of Magnolia and Alexander Avenues. This unique Larkspur gem is one of only 5 concrete arch bridges left in California and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Take a tour with the historic architect and learn how the historic character of the bridge was preserved during the restoration process. Refreshments will be served and one lucky attendee will win a copy of "Larkspur: Past and Present."
