Effective August 25, 2014, inspections will be conducted Monday-Friday. Friday inspections are offered in the morning only.
Early morning (7 a.m. to 9 a.m.). Early inspection times are subject to availability and must be specifically requested.
Morning or afternoon inspections (9:00 am to 2:00 pm).
Schedule an Inspection To schedule an inspection, call (415) 927-5033 at least one day prior to the requested inspection date. It is recommended that you use a landline. You will be required to leave the following information:
The building permit number (located in the upper right hand side of your permit card).
The complete street address. Include suite numbers and tenant name for commercial projects.
The type of inspection requested (for example: framing, roofing, rough plumbing, etc).
The day you want the inspection and whether you are requesting a early morning, morning or afternoon time.
A contact name and phone number.
You will not receive a confirmation call. At the time of inspection, approved plans, permit card and access to area to be inspected must be available. Note if the permit is pulled as "Owner-Builder" the owner must be onsite for the inspection.
Keep Your Permit Active To keep your permit active, you must have the work inspected within 180 days from the date of issuance. Every time an inspection is completed the permit is extended for another six months from the last inspection date. If no inspection is made for more than six months your permit will expire and you will need to reactivate the permit to schedule an inspection or to final the permit.
