Citizen Advisory Committee Meetings

At the CAC meeting on August 23, 2010, the Committee heard a presentation by Hamid Shamsapour, Director of Public Works, addressing current and future infrastructure improvement and maintenance projects. The CAC also discussed the Community Character Element of the 1990 General Plan, and examined what detracts from or contributes to the community's character. All presentations, along with meeting minutes, will be made available on this website in PDF form when available (please see links in the box below).

You can request to be added to our General Plan Update email and mailing lists by contacting Julia Capasso, Contract Planner, at jcapasso@larkspurcityhall.org or by calling 927-5038. The CAC has proposed a tentative meeting schedule of every fourth Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at City Hall; however, additional meetings may be scheduled to accommodate special topics. All meeting dates and times will be posted on this website at least two weeks prior, and you may also call the City at 927-5110 to confirm meeting dates and times. All CAC meetings are open to the public.

What is the CAC?
The City of Larkspur initiated the General Plan Update process in June of 2010. The current General Plan was approved in 1990 and addresses the physical development of the City from 1990 to 2010. The updated General Plan will guide development over the next twenty years to the year 2030.
The Larkspur City Council appointed 27 members to the Citizen Advisory Committee (CAC) for the General Plan update. On the CAC, 19 members represent the community at-large, while 8 members represent City boards, commissions, the Larkspur and Tamalpais Union High school districts, and the Marin Commission on Aging. The CAC will identify important community issues, provide input on General Plan goals, policies, and programs, and encourage community involvement in the update process. The CAC will work with City staff, hired consultants, and the City Council throughout the process.
The City anticipates that the CAC will serve for at least one year, beginning in June of 2010. Please click here to read the CAC charter, which outlines the duties and responsibilities of the CAC.
